Community Healthcare Assistants
I joined St Helens Medical Centre in November 2013 as the Practice Manager. I have a foundation degree in leadership and management. I was a Care Home Manager for older persons, which I did for over 10 years. Before this I was a carer both in a Care Home and in the community. I thrive on developing safe and effective systems and enjoy leading my team. My personal interests include enjoying the outdoors and beautiful countryside here on the Island, as well as keeping fit through running and long walks with my husband.
Assistant Practice Manager
I have worked at the Medical Centre since 1993 and have been Clinical Governance Administrator for the last 10 years. Clinical Governance is a system through which the NHS organisations are accountable for continually improving the quality of their services. Safeguarding high standards of care by creating an environment in which clinical excellence will flourish.
In 2005 I received an award from the Royal College of General Practitioners for performance above and beyond the call of duty. In November 2010 I was promoted to Assistant Practice Manager and in 2014 I was presented with Practice Employee of the year by the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group. My role is always developing but includes overseeing staff members, staff IT training, organising GP Clinical meetings, Health and Safety and Research.
