Repeat Prescriptions

Please remember to allow at least 2 full working days for your prescription to be processed.

Repeat prescriptions are in two parts: the left-hand side (green) is the prescription itself which you take to the pharmacy to get your medication. The right-hand side (white) is a list of your repeat medication, i.e. all the medication you have on a regular basis; you should keep this part to order your next supply of medication.

You may also request repeat medication online by clicking on the link at the top of this page. This service is already available to you if you are registered for the Online Appointments service. If you wish to register for online services, please contact reception.

To request a repeat prescription, please tick the items you require on the right-hand side of your previous prescription or complete a slip at the reception desk.

Prescription requests may be deposited at/collected from:

  • St Helens Medical Centre
  • Boots, Bembridge
  • Seaview Pharmacy
  • Tesco

If you leave your request at the Medical Centre but wish to collect from Boots, Bembridge, you will need to contact Boots, Bembridge (Tel: 01983 872328) to ask them to collect from the Medical Centre. Similarly, if you leave your request at the Medical Centre but wish to collect from Seaview Pharmacy you will need to contact Seaview Pharmacy Tel: 01983 613116 to arrange. You can also leave a message with The Medical centre if you would like your prescription sent to one of the above places.

Both pharmacies offer a personal prescription collection service – please contact direct for details.

For security reasons we are unable to accept telephone or verbal requests for repeat prescriptions, but we can accept faxed (01983 874800) or email requests to IWCCG.StHelensPrescriptions@nhs.net Written requests may be posted through the door at the Medical Centre when the surgery is closed or deposited in the secure box just inside the door during opening hours.

If someone other than yourself collects your prescription, you should be aware you are allowing that person access to your personal and clinical data.

EPS (Electronic Prescription Service)

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medication from. If you collect a repeat prescription from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription as the GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time. The service is right for you if you don’t want to go to your GP practice every time to collect your repeat prescription and use a regular chemist to collect your medication. You need to choose a place for your GP practice to electronically send your prescription to, this is called nomination. Any pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor thats offers EPS or your GP practice to add your nomination for you. If you no longer want your prescription to be sent electronically you just need to inform your GP practice.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a Doctor or Nurse Practioner at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
